- Muscles and lungs are maturing
- Bones are hardening
- Head is growing bigger to accomodate growing brain
What to add to your menu this week:
- Extra calcium
- Protein
In the third trimester, approximately 250 mg of calcium are deposited into your baby's hardening bones every day. Your body stores about 99% of its calcium in your bones and teeth. If you are not getting enough calcium in your diet, then your body will start taking from your stores to give to the baby.

Cheese 1.5 oz - 300 to 400 mg calcium
Romano - 452 mg
Swiss - 336 mg
American - 323 mg
Provolone - 321 mg
Mozzarella - 311 mg
Cheddar - 307 mg
Fortified Cereals 236 - 1043 mg calcium
Sardines 3 oz - 325 mg calcium
Milk 1 cup - 306 mg calcium
Tofu - 1/2 cup - 253 mg calcium
